About Us

Collective Agency is a women-led consultancy proud to work with nonprofits and public agencies that make the world a better place for people and the planet. Our services support all aspects of nonprofit leadership, including fundraising, planning and strategy, board development, financial and grant management, and communications. We bring trust, joy, and excellence to every aspect of our work.

Since our founding in 2021, we’ve secured hundreds of millions of dollars for more than 100 clients across the United States, winning some of the most technical and competitive grants, supporting successful capital campaigns, and building and streamlining tools for organizational and fundraising effectiveness.

    With 25+ years in the nonprofit sector, Sharyl brings deep expertise in strategy, landscape analysis, program development, and fundraising. She thrives on moving between the big picture and the smallest details to help her clients develop compelling and innovative projects and secure resources for social change. Since co-founding Collective Agency in 2021, Sharyl has raised more than $50 million for nonprofits, school districts, and public agencies.

    Lauren has spent two decades helping visionary organizations reshape our world—from youth writing programs in San Francisco to migratory bird protections on the Pacific Flyway to college access inside San Quentin. Since co-founding Collective Agency in 2021, she has raised over $100 million through transformative capital campaigns and funding models that honor community wisdom. Her fundraising practice goes beyond the transactional, helping mission-driven leaders build resilient funding strategies that strengthen their entire organization. With over $200 million raised throughout her career, Lauren brings strategic rigor and deep reverence to fundraising—understanding that sustainable change requires alignment between resources, values, and vision.

    Sara has years of experience in nonprofit management, small business development, financial operations and marketing. She supports non-profits as they grow, helping to build the systems they need to succeed, including budgeting tools that give management insight into committed and needed funding; accounting; data and grant tracking systems that support easy and accurate reporting to the board and funders; and development of common-sense policies and procedures.

    Jessica has more than twenty years of development experience as a leader, mentor, and frontline fundraiser. She is motivated by the power of philanthropy to advance social and environmental issues, and has raised millions of campaign dollars and unrestricted support for Upstream USA, The Nature Conservancy, The Trust for Public Land, and 826 Valencia. Jessica has worked in fundraising shops large and small, and understands the unique pressures fundraising leaders face in today's challenging environment. She specializes in engaging high net worth individuals capable of making transformational investments, and has coached executives and board members in donor engagement and solicitation.

    Emily has 15 years of experience supporting finance, operations, human resources, and development for nonprofit organizations in a variety of fields including arts and education, health and wellness, and hospitality. Her personal mission is to cultivate order, clarity, and compassion so that organizations can do the important work of carrying out their missions. Emily is also a yoga therapist, avid ukulele hobbyist, amateur singer, and Spanish fluency aspirant.

    Jeanie Kirk

    CONSULTANT

     Jeanie has nearly 15 years of nonprofit fundraising and consulting experience, including roles at The Nature Conservancy, environmental and social justice organizations in New Orleans, and at the Prison University Project. In 2019, she launched MADRE Linen while continuing to support higher education in prisons and abortion rights initiatives. Jeanie believes there is a place where storytelling combined with transparency and generosity can leverage humanity's potential to embrace a healthy relationship with our planet and with each other.
